The first step to open the image processing application will appear like a work sheet. Which is in the workspace include:
1. The Toolbox
2. Option Bar
3. Menu bar
4. Document window
5. Expand dock / collapse to icons
6. Icon name pallete
7. Collapse to icons (buttons to turn the pallete become icon)
8. Pallete active

Description:
1. The Toolbox
Containing a variety of tools or tools that are prepared to use when editing or creating a graphic work.
2. Option Bar
Option bar is line option that serves to support the tools that we are using.
3. Menu bar
In the menu bar there is a pull down menu option that serves to carry out orders on what to do. Here are the menus contained in the Adobe Photoshop CS3:

4. Document Window
Document window is a room or area.
a. Expand Dock / collapse to Icon
Serves to show or hide the palette in the form of icons or the perfect view.
b. Icon Name Pallete
To name each palette that appears in Adobe Photoshop.
c. Collapse to Icons
Its function is the same as Dock icon Expand / Collapse to icons.
d. Pallete

C. The tools in Adobe Photoshop CS3
· Selection Tool

 Move Tool - Shortcut (V), the tool is used to move the position of the layer in a single photograph or move an image or a layer in a photo to another / different picture.
Rectangular Marquee Tool - Shortcut (M), the tool is used to select a box-shaped object. Right-click on this tool will display the other tools of groups such as the Elliptical marquee tool Marquee Tool, Single Row Marquee tool and Single Column Marquee Tool.

· Crop & Slice Tool

Slice Tool - Shortcut (C), is used for the needs of the website by cutting the design results that have been created in Photoshop into smaller pieces.

· Annotation, Measuring & Navigation Tool
Eyedropper Tool - Shortcut (I), is used to take a sample color from an image or photographs, samples taken color by clicking the color target then will automatically change color (foreground color) in the toolbox.
Ruler Tool - Shortcut (I), is used to measure the width and height dimensions. This tool is usually used for websites such measure and estimate the height and width of a button interface, the header area or any other website. The unit used is usually pixels.

Red Eye Tool - Shortcut (J), is used to remove red-eye effect in photos arising as a result of taking photos in dark conditions cause the camera flash reflecting red color of blood vessels behind the eye.

Blur Tool - used to soften / blur the specific area of a photo or image. By blurring the images will give the impression of a smooth, blur the image pixels can also disguise.
Sharpen Tool - used to sharpen the specific area of a photo or image.
Smudge Tool - used to rub / expunge certain areas of a photo or image as if influenced by the sweep of the index finger on a painting.
Dodge Tool - Shortcut (O), is used to describe the color in certain areas of an image or photograph to give highlights on certain areas until the area look brighter / brighter.

· Painting Tool
